Promotions at Wake Forest University School of Medicine

The following individuals have been promoted from associate professor to professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

Anthony J. Bleyer, B.S., M.D., professor of internal medicine-nephrology, received his doctor of medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine and a master of sciences-epidemiology from Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.

J. Jeffrey Carr, B.A., M.D., professor of radiologic sciences-radiology, received his doctor of medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He received his master of science degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, and completed a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology and a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Michael C. Chang, B.S., M.D., professor of surgical science-general, received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and completed a fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is board certified in surgery and surgical critical care.

J. Mark Cline, B.S., Ph.D., D.V.M., professor of comparative medicine, received his doctor of veterinary medicine and doctor of philosophy degrees from North Carolina State University. He is board certified in veterinary pathology.

Robert D’Angelo, B.A., M.D., professor of obstetric and gynecologic anesthesia, received his doctor of medicine degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine. He did his internship and residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital and completed a fellowship at Bowman Gray School of Medicine. He is board certified in anesthesiology.

Paul A. Dawson, B.S., Ph.D., professor of internal medicine-gastroenterology, received his doctor of philosophy degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.

Kevin P. High, B.S., M.D., professor of internal medicine-infectious diseases, received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Virginia. He did his internship and residency at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and completed a fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.

Richard P. McQuellon, B.S., M.A., Ph.D., professor of internal medicine-hematology and oncology, received his master of arts degree from Appalachian State University and his doctor of philosophy degree from Michigan State University. He completed an internship at Ingham Medical Center.

Michelle J. Naughton, B.A., M.A., M.P.H., Ph.D., professor of public health sciences-social sciences and health policy, received her master of public health sciences degree from the University of Minnesota and a master of arts degree from Michigan State University. She received her doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Iowa. She completed a National Institutes of Health Fellowship in cardiovascular health behavior at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
