WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ronald J. Zagoria, M.D., professor of radiology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the medical journal Emergency Radiology. The journal focuses on medical imaging of emergency conditions. It is sponsored by the American Society of Emergency Radiology and is published in Berlin, Germany.
Zagoria has served on the faculty of Wake Forest University School of Medicine since 1987 and is currently head of the radiology department’s Section on Abdominal Imaging. He is board certified in radiology, and his clinical interests include uro-oncology, other conditions of the urinary tract, and infertility imaging and treatment.
A graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Zagoria has extensive experience in medical journalism. He has also authored or co-authored more than 300 books, chapters, articles, abstracts or presentations.
The mission of the American Society of Emergency Radiology is to advance the quality of diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill or injured patients by means of medical imaging and to enhance teaching and research in emergency radiology.
