WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wally R. Smith, M.D., associate professor of medicine and chairman of the Division of Quality Health Care at Virginia Commonwealth University, will speak to area physicians about improving their performance and making better decisions in patient care during a lecture on Nov. 17 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
The talk, co-sponsored by the Maya Angelou Research Center on Minority Health and Wake Forest University School of Medicine is open to the public and local health care providers are encouraged to attend. Continuing Medical Education Credit will be offered.
Smith received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama. In addition to teaching and conducting research, Smith is co-director of the Virginia Commonwealth University Center for Reducing Health Disparities.
Smith’s talk, “Changing Physician Behavior: Theory, Evidence and Practice,” will be held at 8 a.m. in the conference room on the ground floor of the Nutrition Education Center Wing. For information, contact the Angelou Research Center, (336) 713-7600.
