Physician Receives Prestigious Award

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Dixon M. Moody, M.D., professor and chief of neuroradiology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, was awarded the prestigious 2004 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Outstanding Researcher Award on May 24 at the 2005 American Society of Neuroradiologists meeting in Toronto, Canada.

Moody has served as chief of neuroradiology at Wake Forest Baptist since 1979, and has educated and inspired a generation of young neuroradiologists and neuroscientists. His research has encompassed the study of brain injury and degeneration from infants through the elderly. Moody has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1984, is the author or coauthor of 107 journal articles and more than 106 abstracts published in prestigious journals and has written several textbook chapters dealing primarily with brain imaging.
