WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Maya Angelou Research Center on Minority Health at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will host a fundraiser at Noble’s Restaurant, 6801 Morrison Blvd., Charlotte, on Wednesday, June 1.
The chefs at Noble’s will prepare a three-course meal featuring recipes from the cookbook Hallelujah! The Welcome Table by Maya Angelou. During the meal, Angelou will share her writings and life experiences as they relate to each dish.
The menu will include:
• First Course: Onion tart or egg mold.
• Main Course: Braised ribs of beef with rice.
• Sides: Tomato soufflé and haricots vert with vinaigrette.
• Breads: Buttermilk biscuits and crackling corn bread.
• Dessert: Carmel cake.
• Beverages: White and red wine, tea, water, coffee.
