Injury Prevention Clinic to be held for Female Athletes

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Sports Medicine Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will host a seminar on “Injury Prevention and Sports Performance in Female Athletes” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20 at CompRehab Plaza, 131 Miller St.

The clinic is for coaches, parents and athletes who participate in soccer, basketball, softball, track, volleyball and gymnastics.

Speakers will be:
* Sara Neal, M.D., family physician, “Hormonal and Nutritional Issues and Sports Performance.”
* Denise Tickle, physical therapist, “Gender Differences and Injury.”
* Valda Vitolins, physical therapist, “Agility and Jump Training.”

Light refreshments and registration will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The program is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The program is free, but registration is required. To register, call (336) 716-8113 by Sept. 17.
