WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Mark C. Chappell, Ph.D., associate professor of surgical sciences at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has been appointed to the editorial board of the journal Hypertension.
Chappell, who is also associate professor of physiology and pharmacology, is a researcher at Wake Forest Baptist’s Hypertension and Vascular Disease Center.
Hypertension is considered the preeminent publication for basic research and clinical studies on the characterization, treatment and consequences of high blood pressure and tissue injury as well as related diseases or risk factors such as diabetes, atherosclerosis and obesity. It is considered a high honor for professionals in the area of hypertension to be appointed to the publication’s board.
Internationally recognized, the Hypertension and Vascular Disease Center provides comprehensive care for hypertension and vascular disease, a mobile blood pressure clinic, early screening and management of peripheral artery disease.
