Vaughn McCall Is New President of Association for Convulsive Therapy

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – W. Vaughn McCall, M.D., professor and chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, is the new president of the Association for Convulsive Therapy, an international organization.

He was installed this past weekend in New York City.

McCall is an expert in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). In January, he became editor of the Journal of ECT, the official journal of the association.

He received both his bachelor’s and medical degrees from Duke University, where he also completed his internship and residency. He is board-certified in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry and by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
