Heart Center Recognized for Excellence by UnitedHealth Group®

The Heart Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has been selected by UnitedHealth Group® to join a newly created network of hospitals and physicians that provide high quality and cost-effective care for patients with complex heart disease.

The Heart Center will be recognized by UnitedHealth Group as a Cardiac Center of Excellence.

The UnitedHealth Premium Cardiac Network is made up of 132 facilities in 30 states that it will promote as premier cardiac centers. Medical centers and physicians in the network were selected based on reputation and published data as well as feedback from the facilities and physicians themselves.

Information is provided in critical areas including:

  • Volume and type of cardiac procedures performed.

  • Physician and ancillary team experience.

  • Emergency care and safety procedures.

  • Range of cardiac specialty care offered.
