Hypertension & Vascular Disease Center Hosts Public Seminar on Heart Disease

The Hypertension and Vascular Disease Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will hold a public seminar on women and heart disease at noon on Friday, Feb. 6 in the Nutrition Education Wing. The event is free and lunch will be provided.

The seminar, “Love Your Heart,” coincides with the American Heart Association’s “National Wear Red Day for Women” campaign in which people around the country are encouraged to wear red in support of all women who have been touched by heart disease.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Women and Heart Disease Update – Maggie Dailey, associate director of the Women’s Health Center of Excellence at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
  • Act in Time: A Practical Approach to Securing Your Heart Health – Felicia Russell, deputy director of Health on Wheels, an mobile education and screening service.
