Wake Forest University School of Medicine ranks 29th in primary care and 40th in research among the nation''s medical schools in the current issue of U.S.News & World Report. In addition, Wake Forest’s program to train physician assistants is ranked 13th in the nation, and the Medical Center’s joint program with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to train nurse anesthetists is ranked 10th.
The annual ranking of “America''s Best Graduate Schools” shows Wake Forest tied in research with Boston University and the University of Maryland.
Last year, the school ranked 39th in both research and primary care.
The annual report on best graduate schools began in 1990. This is the first year that U.S.News and World Report has ranked health disciplines programs such as physician assistant and nurse anesthetist.
The criteria used to calculate the rankings include surveys of faculty, administrators and professionals from around the country.
