New Support Group for Cancer Patients

March 18, 2002

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP) of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) is offering a new support group for patients currently in active treatment for cancer.

The Active Treatment Support Group, which is open to all cancer patients regardless of where they receive their treatment, meets Wednesdays from 10:30-11:45 am in the CPSP Support Room, on the 7th floor of the Clinical Sciences Building on the WFUBMC campus.

The purpose of the group is to allow patients a safe venue to express concerns and issues related to cancer treatment. Areas of discussion include side effects (nausea, pain control, fatigue, hair loss), as well as emotional and psychological issues associated with a cancer diagnosis. For more information contact Anna Lehman at 716-2394 or alehman@wfubmc.edu.
