Two physicians from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will answer questions about women''s health issues during live, on-line chats on drkoop.com (www.drkoop.com).
On May 29 from 8-9 p.m., David Herrington, M.D., M.H.S., associate professor of cardiology, will answer questions about estrogen and heart disease. Herrington will discuss the latest research findings about whether hormone replacement can delay or prevent heart disease in older women.
On May 30 from 9-10 p.m., Leon Lenchik, M.D., assistant professor of radiology, will answer questions about osteoporosis. Though it''s easily detectable, osteoporosis is highly underdiagnosed and undertreated. Forty percent of all women and 12 percent of men over age 50 will have an osteoporosis-related fracture in their remaining lifetimes.
