Cancer Care Conference To Be Held

The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will present a conference titled, "A Partnership for Cancer Care" on Saturday, April 10 from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in Clemmons.

Keynote speaker for the program will be Hyman B. Muss, M.D., associate director of the Vermont Cancer Center, who will discuss communicating with your physician.

"The purpose of the workshop is to help cancer patients, family members and caregivers learn more about cancer care, side effects, treatments and psychosocial issues," said Richard McQuellon, director of the Cancer Patient Support Program.

Breakout session topics will include: Dealing with Cancer Pain, Glenn Lesser, M.D.; Care of the Caregiver, Richard McQuellon, Ph.D.; Children''s Understanding of Cancer, Marcia Wofford, M.D. and Deirdre Teaford, Ph.D.; and Cancer Treatment and Side Effects, Lisa Hodges, R.N.

Special programs will be planned for pediatric patients and their families. Tucker the Dog will be in attendance as well.
