Jamy Ard, MD
Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Public Health Sciences, Co-Director of Weight Management Center
Ard specializes in obesity and weight management in adults. He has more than 15 years of experience in clinical nutrition and obesity. His research interests include clinical management of obesity and strategies to improve cardiometabolic risk using lifestyle modification. Ard has been conducting research on lifestyle modification since 1995 and has worked on several National Institutes of Health-funded multi-center trials, including Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), DASH-sodium and Weight Loss Maintenance Trial. Currently, he is serving as a member of the Expert Panel on the Identification, Evaluation, and Treatment of Overweight and Obesity in Adults, which is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of NIH.

Baker is a cognitive neuroscientist who is a nationally recognized leader in the areas of aerobic exercise and hormone supplementation as treatments for memory decline associated with pre-clinical and early stage Alzheimer’s disease.

Steven R. Feldman, MD, PhD
Professor of Dermatology, Professor of Pathology, Professor of Public Health Sciences - Social Science and Health Policy
Triple appointed in Dermatology, Pathology, and Public Health Sciences, Feldman directs the Center for Dermatology Research, a health services research center dedicated to improving the care of patients with skin disease. His chief clinical interest is psoriasis. He has served as a member of the medical board of the National Psoriasis Foundation, chaired that board's subcommittee on education, and served as the director of the Foundation's Chief Residents' Meeting on psoriasis treatment. He also chaired the American Academy of Dermatology's Psoriasis Education Initiative Workgroup, developing regional courses on emerging psoriasis therapies. Dr. Feldman is a frequent speaker to lay groups, physicians, industry professionals, and managed care executives, and has published more than 500 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is editor or a member of the editorial board of five dermatology journals, has a regular column on patient adherence in PM360: The Essential Resource for Pharma Marketers, and is author of Practical Ways to Improve Patients' Treatment Outcomes and Compartments: How the Brightest, Best Trained, and Most Caring People Can Make Judgments That are Completely and Utterly Wrong. He is listed in Best Doctors in America.

Hall specializes in health care law and public policy, with a focus on economic, regulatory and ethical issues. His present research interests include implementation of health insurance reform, consumer-driven health care, the doctor-patient relationship and conflicts of interest in research. He is the author or editor of 13 books on health care law and policy, including “Making Medical Spending Decisions” (Oxford University Press), and “Health Care Law and Ethics” (8th ed., Wolters Kluwer).

Scott D. Rhodes, PhD, MPH, CHES
Professor, Public Health Sciences
Rhodes is a public health scientist whose research focuses on the integration of community engagement, health promotion and disease prevention in both rural and urban communities nationally and internationally. Specifically, his research explores sexual health; HIV and sexually transmitted diseases; and health disparities, including substance use and obesity, among vulnerable communities.
Rhodes has extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for African American, Hispanic/Latino and immigrant populations; persons living with HIV and AIDS; self-identified gay and bisexual men; men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender persons.
He recently edited a new book entitled: Innovations in HIV Prevention Research and Practice through Community Engagement, published by Springer, 2014.

Erin Sutfin, PhD
Associate Professor, Division of Public Health Sciences
Sutfin is a developmental psychologist whose research focuses on health-risk behaviors including alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. Her research activities are primarily concentrated on tobacco use, prevention, and cessation among adolescents and young adults. She currently participates in a number of research studies in the areas of tobacco use, tobacco cessation, secondhand smoke exposure, and high-risk drinking among college students.

Mara Z. Vitolins, MPH, DPH
Professor and Interim Chair -Department of Epidemiology and Prevention, Division of Public Health Sciences
Vitolins is a nutrition researcher and a registered dietitian whose studies focus on lifestyle interventions for chronic diseases, especially for heart disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity. She has worked extensively with soy in several research studies, in particular for women in the menopausal transition. She is also a health educator and is able to discuss basics of nutrition, the role of nutrition in prevention and control of disease, and keeping people on their diets.
