Sportsmen's Saturday Scheduled for November 2

July 20, 2019

Tickets are now on sale for Sportsmen’s Saturday, a premier community fundraising event for outdoor enthusiasts hosted by the Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center Foundation and Honorary Chairman Richard Childress. The event for drawing the tickets will be held on November 2 at the Lexington Historic Southern Railway Freight Depot, with the doors opening at 11 a.m.

“I’m pleased to announce that all proceeds from this event will benefit the NEW surgical center,” said Bill James, president of Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center. “This event is always so much fun, and it’s a great way to help support our friends and neighbors right here in our own community.”

“This is an exciting, fast-paced event that’s fun for the community but also serves a greater purpose locally,” said Lisa Marshall, Vice President and Chief Philanthropy Officer of Wake Forest Baptist Health. “Every penny will help build the new surgical center.”

“More than 1,100 people attended last year for a sold-out event” said Sara DeLapp, member of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation and a long time leadership volunteer for the event.

The event will feature more than 30 prizes totaling more than $110,000, with the grand prize being a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 truck. There will also be cash prizes and a live auction, where bidders can win Carolina Panthers tickets, Davidson County Wine Crawl, BBQ from Lexington BBQ and a fabulous steak dinner.

The $100 ticket cost, which includes lunch, beverages and entertainment, can be purchased at 25 different locations. Tickets sell out early, so people are encouraged to take advantage of early bird sales by September 16. Early bird ticket purchasers will be entered into several cash drawings for $1000, $2,000 and $5,000 and will also be included in the main prize drawings.

“Sportsmen’s Saturday is a two-fold opportunity,” said DeLapp. “It’s truly a great way to spend the day with family and friends and enjoy downtown Lexington while also giving to our hospital and community.”
