Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has been awarded Silver recognition for the adult population in the Get With the Guidelines-Resuscitation program of the American Heart Association (AHA).
This achievement recognizes improvement in patient care and outcomes for cardiac arrest patients.
The AHA is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
Wake Forest Baptist Gets Award for Clinical Documentation
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – June 30, 2016 – Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has been named the 2016 Summit Award winner for clinical documentation by 3M Health Information Services (3MHIS).
The award recognizes excellence in innovation, clinical documentation, analytics, coding and data management.
3MHIS provides software and consulting services designed for clinical documentation improvement, computer-assisted coding, mobile physician applications and quality outcomes reporting.
Wake Forest Baptist Receives Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – June 30, 2016 – Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center‘s specialty pharmacy has received full Specialty Pharmacy, Version 2.1 accreditation from the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC).
The award recognizes commitment to promoting quality health services and is valid for three years.
URAC is an independent organization that promotes health care quality through accreditation, education, and measurement.
Wake Forest Baptist Urologist Earns National Recognition
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – June 30, 2016 – Gopal Badlani, M.D., professor of urology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has received the Most Distinguished Physician Award from the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI).
The award recognizes Badlani’s contributions to clinical care, research, education and public service.
The AAPI is dedicated to promoting professional solidarity among Indian-American physicians in the pursuit of excellence in patient care, teaching and research.
Wake Forest Baptist Professor Honored for Career Achievement
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – June 30, 2016 – Robert Applegate, M.D., professor of cardiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has been named a Master Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
The Master Fellow recognition acknowledges society members for career achievement in patient care, teaching, research and innovation. Applegate is the only Master Fellow in the Carolinas.
SCAI represents invasive and interventional cardiologists in approximately 70 nations. Its mission is to promote excellence in cardiovascular medicine through physician education and representation.
Wake Forest Baptist Professor Recognized for Contributions
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – June 30, 2016 – Ashok Hemal, M.D., professor of urology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, has received the Sushruta Award from the Indian American Urological Association (IAUA).
This annual award is given to a physician who has contributed to the field of medicine or performed noteworthy charitable work.
IAUA, an affiliate organization of the American Urological Association, promotes interaction among practicing urologists and affiliated scientists of Indian origin in the United States.
