Sunnen/IMIS Rev It Up Raffle Raises $5,200 for Pediatric Trauma Efforts
The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma has received $5,200 from proceeds of a raffle organized by Sunnen Products Company and the International Motorsports Industry Show (IMIS).
Representatives from Sunnen and the IMIS presented a check to Richard Childress, co-founder and chairman of the board of the Childress Institute, during activities leading up to the 600-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., on May 29.
The money was raised from the Sunnen/IMIS Rev It Up Raffle held during the IMIS Dec. 1-3, 2010, in Indianapolis. The raffle also benefited the Victory Junction Camp, which also received $5,200.
“The Childress Institute is proud to receive such a generous donation from Sunnen and IMIS,” said Childress, president and chief executive officer of Richard Childress Racing. “We value all of our partnerships in the motorsports industry and appreciate the opportunity to share our message that serious injury is the number one killer of kids in America. This contribution will help save children’s lives.”
“It was an honor for all of us at IMIS to be part of the inaugural Rev It Up Raffle,” said Chris Paulsen, co-founder of IMIS. “There couldn’t be a more deserving charity than the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma. We hope this donation will further the Childress commitment of making a difference in the lives of children.”
ECR Engines built and donated an engine that served as the raffle item for the event on the last day of the show. ECR representatives also sent a letter to all attendees explaining the charitable aspect and asking for support at the show.
“We were honored to be asked by the organizers of IMIS to help with the charity raffle,” said Richie Gilmore, chief operating officer of ECR Engines. “The proceeds from the raffle benefited two charities that are near and dear to the hearts of many of us in the racing community. Both of these charities do outstanding work to benefit children in need, and are worthy beneficiaries of the dollars raised during the show.”
