WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Digestive Health Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has been recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) for quality and safety.

Wake Forest Baptist is one of 10 hospitals to be recognized nationwide.

“We are pleased to be acknowledged by ASGE for our efforts in maintaining high-quality patient care and safety,” said Kenneth Koch, M.D., chief, section of gastroenterology. “We work to ensure that our staff is up-to-date on the most current guidelines and standards. Gaining this recognition gives our patients reassurance that we are maintaining our high standards.”

The ASGE recognition program honors endoscopy units for promoting quality and following the guidelines on quality assurance, endoscopy reprocessing, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) infection control guidelines.
