Dessert Auction to Benefit KomenNC Triad Race for the Cure®

 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A dessert auction and silent auction to benefit the Komen NC Triad Race for the Cure will be held Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Belk Court at Hanes Mall.

Area restaurants, bakeries and “friends for the cure” donated all the items for the auction. A preview of all the items and bidder registration will begin at 10 a.m., and the bidding will begin at 11 a.m.

Several desserts will be auctioned by auctioneer Fred Mock, including a “Famous Apple Pie” by Celtic Café, ginger cookies by Mrs. Hanes Moravian Cookies, an Italian cream cake by Midtown Dessertery, a black forest cake by Unique Bakery, a brown sugar pound cake with caramel sauce by Zevely House, a “Thomas the Train” cake by Harris Teeter – Cloverdale, and a pink-tiered cake by Ketchie Creek. 

The auction will also feature a certificate for a dinner party for eight at Bonefish Grill, a basketball signed by the WakeForestUniversity men’s basketball team and a surf board signed by Richard Petty. Members of the WakeForest women’s basketball team will make a special appearance at the auction.

The dessert auction is sponsored by WakeForestUniversityBaptistMedicalCenter and Hanes Mall.

WakeForestUniversityBaptistMedicalCenter and Allegacy Federal Credit Union are co-presenting sponsors of the 10th Annual Komen NC Triad Race for the Cure on May 2.
