Brenner Children’s Hospital Wins Platinum Award from HealthLeaders Media For its Marketing Campaign

October 28, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Brenner Children’s Hospital received a 2008 Platinum Award in the Best Children's Hospital Campaign category for medium-size children's hospitals from HealthLeaders Media at a day-long event held Oct. 15 at the Art Institute of Chicago.

This annual marketing contest recognized campaigns in 10 categories including direct-to-consumer, marketing to physicians, marketing quality, community relations, internal communications, integrated marketing, children’s, new media, service-line, and branding campaigns.

Winning campaigns were selected based on four equally-weighted criteria: overall look and feel, creativity, success in conveying their intended messages, and success in meeting their objectives. Platinum, gold, silver and distinction awards were given to small, medium and large hospitals in each category for campaigns launched during 2007. The campaign judges included nine hospital marketing professionals and four editors from HealthLeaders Media.

"As the only children's hospital in the region, it's important that people know about us and our expertise. This campaign stands out and helps us highlight what a special place we have here," said Jon Abramson, M.D., chair of pediatrics at Brenner Children's Hospital, a part of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

The winning campaign for Brenner Children’s Hospital features children dressed as a fairy, a bee, a robot and super heroes.
