WFUBMC’s Atkinson to Serve Regional Board

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – G. Douglas Atkinson, associate dean and vice president of networks at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has been named to the 2007-08 board of directors of the Piedmont Triad Partnership (PTP).
The PTP board consists of 23 members representing county and municipal government and private sector companies in the Piedmont Triad.
The PTP, one of seven regional economic development partnerships in North Carolina, is the economic development organization representing the 12-county Piedmont Triad region. The PTP is the lead organization for the U.S. Department of Labor-funded Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) initiative, which supports the development of an integrated regional economic development and workforce development strategy for the Piedmont Triad. The Piedmont Triad is the nation's 37th largest metro region with more than 1.5 million residents.
