Wake Forest is one of two centers in the state conducting the Women’s Health Initiative, a large research study to learn more about women’s health. Recently, the study found that the risks of taking estrogen plus progestin outweigh the benefits for many women. About 7 million women in the United States take this combination of hormone replacement therapy.
