N.C. Baptist Hospital Ranked Among America?s Best In Patient Satisfaction

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Patient satisfaction scores at N.C. Baptist Hospital of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center are among the highest in the country according to the latest survey reports released by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., the health care industry’s top satisfaction measurement and improvement firm.

Baptist Hospital was ranked in the top 1 percent of an elite group of health care facilities including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Emory University Hospital.

“Our second consecutive superior ranking is due to the hard work of our 11,000 employees,” said Len B. Preslar Jr., president and CEO of the hospital. “Our physicians and clinical staff, other employees and volunteers are dedicated to making our patients and guests feel as comfortable as possible while providing excellent medical care.”

According to its latest patient satisfaction survey, Press Ganey ranked Baptist Hospital in the 99th percentile or top 1 percent of institutions within all of its peer groups. The information is gathered from surveys mailed to patients following discharge and those receiving services from the following departments: Emergency, Downtown Health Plaza of Baptist Hospital, Outpatient Surgery, Psychiatry and Rehabilitation. Press Ganey compiles patient survey results from more than 5,900 health care facilities.
