Baptist Hospital Honors Its Volunteers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – In conjunction with National Volunteer Week, N.C. Baptist Hospital will honor 65 of its volunteers for their service at a luncheon April 26 at The Hawthorne Inn and Conference Center. The hospital has more than 600 volunteers who contribute about 130,000 hours of service a year.

Honorees with the highest levels of service are: Don Moss of Pilot Mountain, 29,000 hours; Sankie Fritchman of Winston-Salem, 18,000 hours; Dutch Fritchman of Winston-Salem and Louise Joyce of Advance, 15,000 hours; and Marie Wilson of Winston-Salem, 13,000 hours.

Also, Oliver White of Winston-Salem, 9,000 hours; Hilary Booze, Betty Penn and Wilma Smiley, all of Winston-Salem, 8,000 hours; Ann Brenner and Marie Royal, both of Winston-Salem, 6,000 hours; and Jane Dwiggins and Nancy Schuh, both of Winston-Salem, 5,000 hours.

Hospital volunteers work in a variety of jobs, from assisting family members in the Emergency Department to providing directions to visitors at the information desks.
