Thomas A. Arcury, PhD
Professor of Family Medicine
Arcury is a professor and vice-chair for research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. In addition, he is director of the Center for Worker Health. He has received several awards, including the Mid-Career Investigator in Clinical Sciences Awards from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2007, the Innovative Research Award for Worker Health and Safety from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in 2006, the Outstanding Researcher Award from the National Rural Health Association Researcher Award in 2004, and the Praxis Award from the Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists in 2003. He is an associate editor for the Journal of Agromedicine, a consulting editor of the Journal of Environmental Education, and serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Gerontology: Social Sciences, and the Journal of Applied Gerontology.

Mark Wolfson, PhD
Professor, Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy
Dr. Wolfson's research focuses on (1) the forces shaping public policy on alcohol and tobacco use, and (2) the implementation and impact of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug policy and prevention programs. He is an expert on underage drinking laws and can speak about the best or most promising practices for increasing the enforcement of underage drinking laws and the incidence of alcohol-related problems among college students. Wolfson is also involved in research targeted at assessing, and ultimately preventing, college student tobacco use (including the use of novel products, such as snus) and exposure to second hand smoke.
